DIVISIONS BRING COURAGE
Exodus 8:23
"And I will put a division
between my people and thy people. . ."
God has a
way of dividing people from one another and from things,
as well as groups and organizations. It was of interest
to me this morning to see that He divided the Israeli
slaves, bound in Egypt, from the powerful Egyptian
Pharaoh and his people. Moses was assigned by God, with
the help of Aaron his brother, to lead Israel out of
Egypt.
How was he
to do this? I am sure Moses wondered, too. God had a
way! He always does. He drove hard-hearted Pharaoh to
scream out at Moses, "Be gone!" All the awful plagues,
found in these chapters and following, ended in the
death of every first born of man or animal in the land.
"GO! GO! GO!" cried the king!
But, did you
notice in verse 32-b of chapter 12, that Pharaoh
implored Moses, "Bless me!" How like those who criticize
us. Often in their need, they come to us for help! (ysw)
"CIRCUMCISION
OF THE HEART"
(Joshua 5:3, 8)
It is a type of
"separation." To be "separated" means to walk
alone.
Each person must have it personally, and bear its
pain. It was commanded by God at that time after
they crossed over the Jordan River. A sharp knife
is used. THE WORD OF GOD IS A SHARP KNIFE! It
hurts our pride! It hurts our pride! It costs us
friends. It makes "separated Christian" a marked people.
The wounds of separation exchange the reproach of Egypt
(the world) for the reproach Christ! (GGS)

And
Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he
said, Behold, in the tent. And he said, I will certainly
return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo,
Sarah thy wife shall have a son. (Genesis 18:10)
